Quick and easy to prepare tasty patties with a kick of spice. Delicious served hot or cold with your favourite chilli sauce, and great as a high protein 'burger' rissole substitute.
MAKES: 6 Patties
1 Pack of Earth Source Foods Firm Tofu, roughly chopped
250g White button mushrooms, rinsed and roughly chopped
1 Cup plain flour (plus extra as needed)
3/4 Tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1/4 Teaspoon Sichuan ground pepper
1/2 Tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
Oil for frying
Place all ingredients, except the flour, into a blender and mix for a few seconds until moist ingredients and seasonings are minced together.
Add a cup of plain flour and blend again. Remove mixture from blender and place onto a floured bench top, gradually adding a little extra flour to form a stiff mixture that can be shaped into 6 patties. The amount of flour added will vary depending on the moisture content of mushrooms used.
Fry patties in a little hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
Delicious with chilli sauce and a salad accompaniment for a complete main meal.
